Embrace the versatility and cozy up in style this season! As the "Big Four" of fashion weeks have commenced. We get to see just what power topping a look off with a hat can really do.

Aside from too many hat puns to choose from and then dutifully resisting the urge to use them ALL in this post. I have to admit I have always been a fan of a hat to finish a look. A baseball hat can take any casual/athleisure look and make it "styled"; while a sun hat can serve as poolside sun protection while pulling double duty and making you feel like Grace Kelly in "To Catch A Thief".

The twist on this season's hat trend is that it all feels a little more vintage a little more whimsical at time.. Think 1960's style news boy caps, and 1950's fascinators for Ascot. The hat trend is to make a statement: whether its bold or just a way to finish accessories a look. It's also is a great way to add a little more texture which is also a prominent theme this season. Suedes and leather, knits and even some adornment. (Mental note: Need to get my hands on some vintage brooches).

The goal hear is to have a little fun be a little whimsical and make the changing season a little more playful and less stark in contrast to the airy summer looks we are saying goodbye to. Everything about the fall lines seem to be embracing this feeling, and the hat as the accessory du jour just tops it all off.
